Back to the Basics

Today was the first time in a while that I read all the past entries on my blog since I first made it. During the first few months after making this blog, I was going through a phase where I wanted to change the way I viewed life. My original intention was to express everything I thought was beautiful through my photos and thoughts. At first I was sad that I had gone off track from that, but then I realized that it all comes instinctually now. My appreciation for life doesn’t need to be noted. Now, I just appreciate. My views on traveling, fashion, and nutrition are all the same which is reassuring that I am, in fact, staying on course for who I wanted to be. I am pleased to say that I have successfully been living my life the way I originally wanted to. A lot can happen in nine months, and a lot has, but at this exact moment in my life, I am happy. Very happy actually! I have made wonderful friends here in California and with this new beginning, I have actually truly become the person I’ve always aspired to be.

Looking back at my Nature post made me realize that I still love being alone in nature, soaking up the beauty and simplicity of life. In Colorado, I would drive to the mountains thinking about who I wanted to be. Now I get to walk on the beach thinking about the person I have become. California is a beautiful place and I have been able to experience things here that I never could have if I stayed in Colorado for college.

Music is also still a huge part of my life. I’ve yet to become the kind of person who always has headphones on their ears, or who up to date with their music, but I do still love it! Music is the art of the soul. It is the one thing that everyone can love and understand; it can bridge cultures and repair friendships. I listen to all different types of music, but here is a list of some of my favorite songs right now (in no particular order):

  1. Team – Lorde
  2. What Would You Do – Bastille
  3. Wrecking Ball – Miley Cyrus
  4. Let Her Go – Passenger
  5. Heart Attack – One Direction
  6. Hey Ho – Lennon and Maisy Remix
