Fear

Being scared is a really interesting concept. There are so many ways to look at it, some people look at it psychologically, some people look at it as a problem, some people live in fear day to day, and some suffer fear in strong waves, even as periodic attacks.

When someone asks you, what are you afraid of? The most common answers always arise, the typical, the dark, spiders, or heights! For children, the monster in their closet and for those getting older, the fear of dying alone.
It’s with us our entire lives, some affected by it more than others. Stories and legends are born from bravery, even songs written about being fearless (regardless of the fact that they are written by a young blonde country/pop sensation). Overcoming your fear to do the right thing, or even just to get over it is quite a feat.
Some people say life is lived outside your comfort zone, so if you’re scared of heights you should trek up the CN tower, or if you are afraid of the dark you should turn off that night-light, and if you’re scared of spiders you should… Um go pet a tarantula at your local pet store? Anyway the point is to face those fears, to open up that closet and see no monster standing there.
Take your time with it; if you are ready to overcome it, I have all the faith in you that you can. If you aren’t ready quite yet, there is plenty of life to be lived that doesn’t involve petting tarantulas. Take it in stride, those who love you will sit by you with your night-light until you are ready to turn it out.
